Kitchen and Bath Design: Efficiency vs Elegancy

When it comes to kitchen and bath design, the efficiency vs elegancy debate often arises. Designing your kitchen and bathrooms is a huge deal, particularly if you plan on having guests come over frequently. Is it worth paying extra money for a fancy design, or are you better off saving money by going with a less fancy design that still gets the job done? Today, we are going to touch on a couple of the pros and cons of each side.


Elegant Design

Elegant kitchen and bath design is a great thing, but there is a price to pay for having an admirable setup. First of all, you need to be well off financially before you act on your aspirations for elegant design. I don't care how important it is to you, fancy K&B design should not be high on your financial priority list. If you are well off, and that's what you really want to do, then go for it. If you have the money, you also need to consider the fact that you will probably be redesigning much of it. Assuming you have been saving up and using a modest K&B setup, you will have to do a good bit of remodeling in both rooms. Not only is remodeling going to run your even more money, it will also be a pain in the butt to actually have it remodeled. I'm not trying to crush you're fancy design dreams, I'm just trying to tell you how it's going to be. If you have the money and don't mind remodeling, feel free to go right ahead with your planned design. The plus side of having these rooms redesigned is that when you have company over, your K&B design has the potential to be the envy of your friend group.


Efficient Design

Efficient design is the best friend of the middle class. It's for those who want their stuff to work right, but don't necessarily fall under the category of desiring a fancy design. I personally fall into this category. Maybe it's because I'm a guy, but honestly I just can't hop on board with the whole fancy kitchen and bath thing. For some people, that's their big thing, and that's great. Efficient design is all about getting quality and efficient products on a budget. Whether you are content with a working kitchen and bath setup or you are trying to baby step your way into elegant design, efficient K&B design is a great option for all.
